In October 2016, Sustaining Endeavour established a recycling and rebate service to Growers in the Barossa region for their old drip tube with the aim of supporting Australian manufacturing jobs within a circular economy framework and tracking regional recycling outcomes. Sustaining Endeavour delivered a circular economy recycling solution by using Plastics Granulating Services. Provided Growers presented waste as requested a rebate was returned. Growers used their rebate towards purchasing Australian made plastic products from Sponsoring Manufacturers in one of three participating Barossa supply stores

Growers were also be able to put up to half their rebate towards Barossa Grape & Wine Association’s ongoing “Creating Resilient Landscapes in the Barossa” project. Up until the closure of PGS in June 2017, five Growers had used the service and between them recycled approx 4.4 tonnes to receive a rebate at their preferred store. A small but pleasing contribution has also been made by Growers from their rebate towards local biodiversity improvement in the Barossa.

Please see our Recycling and  Rebate Service page for an update on the temporary absence of a suitable recycler in Adelaide and interim advice to Growers who wish to use our service when it resumes.
