Growers

Sustaining Endeavour launched it Recycling and Rebate service in July 2016, linking to Adelaide based recycler, Plastics Granulating Services, PGS. This service made it easier for growers to replace inefficient plastic products, such as old polypipe and vine guards. Features of our service included:

Facilitating Recycling – Working with Growers to regionally coordinate efficient collection and transport of their plastic waste streams for recycling  and to provide them with environmental reporting on their recycling results.

Reducing Replacement Costs – Growers received a rebate in return for their recycling efforts through their Participating Regional Supply Store. Growers are be able to use their rebate towards Australian made plastic products from Sponsoring Manufacturers

Contributing to Community – Many Growers elected to put up to half their rebates towards regional environmental or community projects.

Promotion of Growers – Sustaining Endeavour developed circular economy snapshots, blogs (see latest news) and case studies featuring Growers who used the Recycling and Rebate Service as well as other initiatives to improve operational sustainability and productivity.

With the closure of PGS in June 2017 there is currently an absence of a suitable plastics recycler in Adelaide. Consequently and regrettably,  Sustaining Endeavour is  unable to organise recycling pick-ups or drop-off for Growers until such time as one or more new recyclers are established in Adelaide. Sustaining Endeavour is actively seeking new local recycling partners and circular economy solutions. Please provide your email address to be kept in the loop.

Growers are encouraged to continue retrieving their old dripperline as per instructions followed by growers who used Sustaining Endeavour’s Recycling and Rebate service in the past.

Sustaining Endeavour thanks all Grower Associations who have assisted in promoting the Recycling and Rebate service to their members and for advising on service delivery within their region.
